WW2 Memorabilia Is This Oak Box Stool Stamped 1944 - VIN1276X
For sale is a wonderfully unique and historically significant oak joint stool with an integrated storage compartment. Built in a sturdy, traditional Arts & Crafts style, it features a deeply carved front panel depicting stylized thistles and acanthus foliage.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a clean interior storage space, perfect for slippers, sewing supplies, or small keepsakes. Most notably, the underside of the lid bears a charming, hand-carved presentation inscription: "To Mary and Bill from J. Finn and Marie / 23.9.44", marking it as a special WWII-era commemorative or wedding gift.
The stool stands on robust turned baluster legs united by a low box stretcher. It has a beautiful rich dark oak finish and a wonderfully aged patina.
