Antique late Victorian tub chairs, crafted in the same workshop, this near pair of chairs feature identical vibrant green upholstery.
These chairs were intentionally designed with complementary, subtle variations in the woodwork—one featuring elegant vertical spindles and the other a stylised decorative central splat.
Provenance. The underside of both frames retains their original, workshop assembly stamps (1021 and 1026), along with the cabinet maker initials on one, they also retain their original paper depository labels from the historic Furlongs Depository in Woolwich, London numbers 132 and 133 providing a wonderful paper trail of their history over 100 years ago.
Excellent structural condition. The rich, warm wood frames are sturdy with beautiful graining, and the striking green velvet seats are clean and ready to use.
