Fine Antique Victorian Flame Mahogany Cheval Floor Standing Mirror (c. 1860) - VIN1287D
It features a full-length, rectangular swing mirror plate housed in a rich mahogany frame, suspended between two turned vertical columns with decorative finials. The structure stands on a distinctively shaped platform base supported by elegant, out-swept scrolled feet on castors.
Excellent antique condition. The mahogany frame and base are structurally sound with a beautiful natural patina. The mirror plate exhibits an attractive, light amount of historic foxing (age-related silvering spots) validating its 19th-century origin. The original under-foot brass casters are present but exhibit typical historic stiffness. Please note minor historic chipping/scuffs to the wood finish along the edges of the serpentine platform base, consistent with genuine age & use. Please see all photo's.
