including Rare French Tissue & Early 1860s Hand-Tinted Cards. The viewer is in excellent condition and crucially retains its original dark red velvet plush lining around the hood The floral aluminium engravings are crisp, the optics are clear, the folding wooden handle works perfectly, and the cardholder bracket slides smoothly along the focusing rack.
A collection of around 120 sterioview cards spans from the 1860’s to the early 1900’s and includes French “hold to light” tissue cards along with early Victorian hand tinted cards.
The cards show expected age appropriate wear.
