Antique framed Print "The Surrender of Napoleon to Great Britain" c.1914 with Daily Mirror Newspaper Backing. It shows Napoleon with French officers in the background aboard British warship H M S Bellerophon
The text reads- “On the fifteenth of July 1815, Twenty seven days after the battle of Waterloo and seven days after Louis XVIII had re-entered Paris as King of France, Napoleon, despairing to escape to America, surrendered to Great Britain and went on board the 'Bellerophon'."
the back of the frame features original wooden backing boards insulated with pages from a late 1914 edition of the Daily Mirror.
