1936 Japanese Maritime Silk Embroidery for the Norwegian merchant motor tanker ship “MT Elise”. This unique textile in high relief embroidery was custom-commissioned by the merchant sailor in the photo on visiting the unknown Japanese port. The Norwegian and Japanese flags nestle above the ship and two original black and white photos are still in place. The message at the top reads “Greetings from Japan to Norway” framed and glazed.
