Rare vintage 1940/50’s bus driver/ Conductor overcoat for use on BMMO Midland Red buses.
The BMMO stands for the “Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Company”.
This double breasted wool overcoat fastened with staybrite metal buttons that feature the name Midland, for the well known Midland Red buses.
The inside features a herringbone striped wool blanket lining making it very heavy but warm, needed for use on buses that had no door and was open to the cold winter elements
The two deep pockets and cuffs have faux leather as reinforcement for constant use. The original paper label is still in tact and generally the coat looks as though it has been used very little if at all. A rare coat in such good condition.
