Genuine original 19th century Measham Ware also known as Barge ware. Items could be bought from a little shop at Measham near the canal in the late 1800’s. Popular with barge people from the nearby canal who would buy them as gifts or with the family name or other message. Decorated with flowers and leaves and finished in a thick treacle brown glaze. Produced in the late Victorian period for around 25 years before falling out of popularity
