A Chinese Tang Dynasty style horse with woman rider. We don’t know the age and not sure of the material, but there are pigments of red.
What we do know is that it arrived on a ship from the Far East at Tilbury Docks around 1899-1905. It was purchased on the docks and it has been kept in the family ever since.
The horse was a symbol of wealth and status in the Tang Dynasty and such were put in the tomb to serve the deceased in the afterlife.
