original pair of antique cutler stools started their life at the factory of James Dixon, Shalesmoor, near the river Don, Sheffield. Finally the stools moved to sub contacting work at Hiram Wilds (cutlers), Sheffield. working mainly on spoons and forks.
The red staining on one stool is from the red block of polish used on the buffing wheels in the silver shop which landed everywhere.
The stools are not restored, but straight from the retired cutlers shed.
