HMS Leicester Ships Clock - VIN1109F
Back to Interiors > Everything ElseDescription
Ships clock reputably salvaged from the ship HMS Leicester City which was built in 1934. HMS Leicester City was used in WW2 as an Anti-Submarine Warfare trawler. After the war it was shipwrecked, running aground on rocks at Hoy Sound near Orkney in 1953. This clock mounted on a heavy thick wooden and brass plaque has been kept in a naval family from that period.
