Alexander Rippingille founded the business in the late Victorian period, by 1888 this became the Albion Lamp Company making cooking and heating stoves at the Albion Works, Aston, Birmingham. Eventually the company was bought out by Valor Ltd in 1971. This metal and cast iron heater has the detailed brass makers plate and would have originally been elaborately painted in colours.
